ALLENDALE, Mich. - The Davenport track and field teams turned in several top-10 school marks on Saturday at the Grand Valley State Bob Eubanks Open. The teams continue to make great strides in their third indoor meet of the season.
Davenport Highlights
Sprints
Arrionna Wallace took third place in the 60 meters with a time of 7.78 and established the second-best mark at DU.
Jakya Mack-Smith also in the 60 meters ran 7.95, which was the fifth-best time at DU and took seventh place in the meet.
Hanah Johnson made it three sprinters in the top-10 all time at 7.88 in the prelims, good for sixth at DU.
Tori Lator ran 25.83 in the 200 meters and that time is now fifth at DU.
Soleil Moore ran 25.66 in the 200 meters and placed fourth in the event.
Malcolm Earvin placed fourth in the 60 meters with a time of 6.95.
Jumps/Vault
Julia Ott competed in the high jump and won the event at 5' 5". Her mark is now fourth-best at Davenport.
Reese Geiger and
Madelyn Miller had a strong freshmen showing in the pole vault. Geiger cleared 10' 4" is claim the eighth-best height at DU and Miller cleared 8' 10.25" which is 10th as a Panther all-time.
Tess Carlson placed third in the pole vault with a height of 10' 10".
Tariq Murray placed third in the triple jump with the seventh-best distance at DU (43' 5").
Throws
Jayla Procter won the shot put with a throw of 44' 5.25" and set the school record which was held by Jessica Marvin in 2022. She set the record on her sixth and final attempt. Procter also placed third in the weight throw with the ninth-best toss in school history (48' 3.5").
Thomas Johnson placed fifth in the shot put (49' 1.5") with the ninth-best throw at DU.Â
Zach Kitchen was right on his heels in the shot put (46' 10.25") with the 10th throw ever at DU.
Relays
The women's team of
Kenzie Fedewa,
Hanah Johnson,
Adeline Nickels, and
Soleil Moore won the 4x400 with a time of 3:57.02. That time is fourth in school history.
Distance
Jordan Domany set the school record in the 3,000 meters with a time of 8:32.03. He broke the mark set by
Drew Sharrar last year at the GVSU Big Meet.
Luke Oyster also competed in the 3,000 meters and ran the seventh-fastest race in school history at 8:50.48.
