PREVIEW: Panthers Open 2026 Season at Tiffin

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Under the guidance of first-year head coach Frank Rogers, the Davenport University women's lacrosse team is set to open its season this weekend against Tiffin at 2 p.m. at Frost Kalnow Stadium.

In 2025, seven Panthers earned All-Conference honors. Of that group, four student-athletes return to the squad for another season.

Leading the list of returners is Gabby Basha, who earned First Team All-GLIAC honors a season ago. Basha finished the season with 21 goals and 12 assists. She also had 60 shots, including 49 on goal for an impressive 81.7 percent rate.

Ashley Sanders and Jade Remacle, a pair of Second Team All-Conference selections in 2025, will also be key pieces for DU in 2026. As a true freshman, Sanders played in 16 games and made 13 starts. Sanders also finished with 34 ground balls, 10 caused turnovers and three draw controls. Remacle played and started in all 17 games this season, the only Panther to do so. She totaled 31 ground balls, 17 caused turnovers and 25 draw controls.

Senior Alyssa Bird also returns after earning Honorable Mention All-GLIAC honors a season ago.

As for Tiffin, Saturday will also mark the season opener for the Dragons. Last year, TU finished 8-8 overall and 4-4 in G-MAC action.
