Preview: Panthers Continue Early Season Road Stretch

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -  The Davenport University women's lacrosse team continues its early-season road stretch, traveling to a pair of out-of-conference opponents. The Panthers (2-0, 0-0 GLIAC) will travel to Buffalo, N.Y. to take on D'Youville at noon on Saturday (Feb. 28) and to Painesville, Ohio, for a battle with Lake Erie at 6 p.m. next Tuesday (March 3)

DU is off to a good start, remaining undefeated after its first two games of the season. Through two games, the trio of Jade Remacle, Jenna Gillis and Brianna Rodriguez are pacing the Panthers' offense. Rodriguez leads the squad in goals (seven) while Gillis and Remacle each have a team-best 10 total points.

Despite only playing in one of the two games, Kacie Stolarek leads the squad in draw controls (19), caused turnovers (six) and ground balls (eight). She earned GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week after her performance against Tiffin in the season opener.

About the Saints
  • Last year, the Saints went  5-9 overall and 2-4 in conference action.
  • Their season opener against Franklin Pierce was canceled on Feb. 25. They will play Findlay on Friday (Feb. 27) to begin the season.
  • Under the guidance of first year head coach McKenna Rushford and returned 11 players from last season's squad. The Saints returned three of their six All-Conference returners from a season ago; Madison Nuck, Madison Handley and Lauren Parker, all of whom earned Second Team honors in 2025.
  • Picked fifth in the ECC Preseason Coaches' Poll.

About the Storm
  • Last season, Lake Erie finished 2-15 overall and 1-7 in conference action. 
  • Offensively, the Storm returned most of their production from 2025 as four of their top five point leaders returned. Brooke McNeal is the top returner for Lake Erie, as she led the team in goals (49) a season ago. Now, in 2026, she leads the team with three goals for the year.
  • The Storm have been outscored a total of 34-7 in their two opening games combined. Lake Erie does have a matchup with Point Park on Friday (Feb. 27) before its matchup with DU.
  • Picked to finish seventh in the G-MAC Preseason Coaches' Poll.
