Panthers Head South for 10-Game Florida Stretch

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. The Davenport softball team continues its 2026 non-conference slate this week with a 10-day trip to the Sunshine State. The Panthers are scheduled to play 12 games during the stretch, competing in two-day segments with an off day built in after every third day of action.

DU will look to build momentum and secure its first win of the 2026 campaign while facing a challenging group of opponents in Florida.

The Panthers open their Florida schedule with a doubleheader against Bridgeport on Friday, Feb. 27 at 12:15 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Davenport will then take on St. Cloud State in a doubleheader at 10:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., before facing Bridgeport again on Saturday, Feb. 28.

DU opened its 2026 season last weekend against GLVC and GMAC opponents Ohio Dominican and Illinois Springfield. Across the two doubleheaders, several Panthers recorded their first hits of the season, highlighting early offensive contributions as the team continued to develop.

Ally Prasjnak leads the Panthers with three hits, four total bases and two runs scored while posting a .500 slugging percentage. Lyla Reynolds has added two hits, while Ashley Sturgill, Alaina Schwanke, Grace Gilbert, Randi Robakowski, Savanna Clark, Lexie McCarty and Chloe Parker each recorded their first collegiate hit of the season.

All six pitchers saw action in the circle during opening weekend. Junior Hailey Whisman and sophomore Hannah Tahaney carried the bulk of the workload, combining for 13 innings pitched. Both pitchers registered four strikeouts.
