Wallace excels in sprints to highlight the Panthers at the GVSU Mike Lints Open

ALLENDALE, Mich. - The Davenport University track and field teams delivered a strong day of competition Saturday at the GVSU Mike Lints Alumni Meet. The Panthers were led by a couple standout performances, showcasing continued growth and momentum as the indoor season moves deeper into February.

Women's Notables
Arrionna Wallace placed third in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.68, which was also her time in the prelims. That time is good for second in school history.
Elizabeth Miller finished second in the shot put with a throw of 42' 8.75" and set the fourth-best result in DU history.
Madison Hernandez finished ninth in the weight throw at 44' 4".
Tess Carlson and Reese Geiger each finished seventh in the pole vault at 10' 10". It was Geiger's PR in the event.

Men's Notables
Carson Dykstra in the 400 meters set the seventh-best time in DU history (49.78) and placed third in the event.
Thomas Johnson had the eighth-best throw ever in the shot put (50' 4.75") and won the event. He also set a new PR.
Chandler Griffiths in the shot put invite event placed fifth with a throw of 52' 7.5".
Tariq Murray claimed second place in the long jump with a distance of 21' 10.25" for his new PR.
Ethan Scholten was third in the long jump (21' 8") and fourth in the 60-meter dash (6.93).
Matt Nowak raced to a fifth-place finish in the 3,000 meters (9:19.67) in a PR time.
Marcus Nystrom was fifth in the 60 hurdles with a time of 8.28 and ran 8.22 in the prelims.
