Panthers Remain Perfect in Conference Play Following Saturday Road Victory

NORTH CANTON, Ohio — The Davenport men's lacrosse team secured a 10–7 victory over Walsh on Saturday, maintaining its undefeated conference record. The game saw Davenport capitalize with a strong start, scoring six goals in the first half. The team displayed efficient faceoff control, winning 14 of 21 faceoffs.

DU quickly took the lead when Luke Eichbauer scored the first goal, assisted by Griffin Poll, just 8 seconds into the match. The Cavaliers responded with a goal at 12:44, equalizing the score. Davenport regained the lead at 11:49 with a goal by Will Bjork, assisted by Eichbauer. The Panthers secured a 3-2 lead by the end of the first quarter with Luke Fritz scoring at 4:05, assisted by Dylan Fallon, while goalie Sean House made crucial saves to maintain the advantage.

A pair of goals by the Cavaliers in the opening stages of the second quarter gave them a one goal advantage (4-3). Davenport responded with a strategic timeout at 5:41, which was followed by a goal from Fritz, assisted by Charlie Fritz, at 5:29. Eichbauer then gave DU  a lead with his unassisted goal at 2:15. Charlie Fritz, assisted by Tommy Becker, pushed Davenport ahead by two with a goal at 00:55. However, the Cavaliers narrowed the gap, scoring with just 3 seconds left, ending the quarter with Davenport leading 6-5.

Davenport maintained its lead in the third quarter, with Eichbauer scoring at 12:14 to put the visitors ahead. The quarter concluded with both teams adding one goal each, bringing the score to 7-6 in favor of Davenport.

In the final quarter, Davenport had a strong start in the fourth quarter with Jayden Ashley scoring at 14:33, assisted by Becker. Becker followed up with another goal just seconds later at 14:10, extending Davenport's lead. Walsh responded with a man-up goal at 4:17, assisted by Salvino. However, Davenport maintained its advantage when Ashley scored again at 3:23 during a man-up opportunity, assisted by Luke Fritz. Despite multiple attempts from the Cavaliers, House's goalkeeping, including a save on Owen Callaghan's shot at 0:44, kept the score in Davenport's favor, concluding the quarter at 10–7.
