Preview: Panthers Prep for Pair of G-MAC Opponents

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -  The Davenport women's lacrosse team continues its non-conference schedule to start the season, heading to Thomas More (Friday, March 6) and Walsh (Sunday, March 8) this weekend. It will mark the fifth and sixth consecutive road contests to begin the 2026 campaign.

Last week, DU split the week, falling 14-12 to D'Youville on Saturday (Feb. 28), before picking up a dominating 22-2 victory over Lake Erie on Tuesday (March 3).

In the loss to the Saints, Addison Roe had the best game of her college career. The sophomore finished with three goals and two assists, both marking career-highs. She then followed that up with a six-goal performance against the Storm, again setting a career-best.

About the Saints
  • Last year, the Saints finished 5-14 overall and 4-4 in conference action. They were knocked out of the G-MAC Tournament by the No. 1 seed Ashland.
  • Returned one All-Conference performer from last year, Jadyn Carle, who was a Second  Team All-G-MAC selection. She currently ranks third on the team in caused turnovers with seven.
  • Junior Anna Wells is pacing the Thomas More offense, leading the way in goals (15) and points (18). She has also dished out three assists and picked up 18 ground balls. 
  • Picked fourth in the G-MAC preseason coaches' poll.

Walsh (0-3, 0-0 G-MAC)
Series Record: Tied 1-1
Last Meeting: 3/10/23 - Walsh defeated Davenport 8-7 in North Canton, Ohio.
About the Cavaliers
  • Last season, Walsh finished its season 9-9 overall and 7-1 in conference play. The Cavs fell in the G-MAC Semifinals to Findlay, 13-10.
  • Returned one of its three First Team All-G-MAC players, Alexa Panetta. Last season, she finished with 47 ground balls, 33 caused turnovers and 75 draw controls. This season, she leads the squad in all three of those categories, registering 10 ground balls, five caused turnovers and 12 draw controls.
  • Offensively, Trinity Stowell is the Cavs' biggest offensive threat. She currently has nine goals, two assists and 11 points, all marking team-highs.
  • Picked third in the G-MAC preseason coaches' poll.
