Preview: Panthers Hit the Road for Pair of GLIAC Games

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -  The Davenport University women's lacrosse team is hitting the road for two conference games this weekend. The Panthers will take on Northern Michigan on Friday (April 10), followed by Concordia-St. Paul on Sunday (April 12).

About the Wildcats
  • Last season, the Wildcats finished 11-8 overall and 4-4 in conference action, falling to GVSU in the GLIAC Championship game by six (15-9).
  • Josie Lakosky returns after being named the 2025 GLIAC Attacker of the Year a season ago, as well as earning First Team All-Conference honors. So far this season, she has earned GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week honors three times (weeks one, six and eight).On the season, she ranks third across NCAA Division II in goals (62). Leads the country in points per game (7.00).
  • The Wildcats have an 87.8 percent clearing percentage, the 13th best in the nation.
  • Won three of their last four games heading into the weekend, with their only loss coming to Grand Valley State (Friday, March 27).
  • Picked to finish second in the GLIAC Preseason Coaches' Poll.

About the Golden Bears
  • Last season, the Golden Bears finished 9-8 overall and 5-3 in GLIAC play. CSP was knocked out of the conference tournament in the opening round by Northern Michigan, falling 9-7.
  • Susie Monson is the top returner for CSP, as she was named the 2025 GLIAC Midfielder of the Year with 32 goals, 62 points and 93 draw controls as a junior. The Golden Bears also return the GLIAC Defender of the Year in Claire Flahaven.
  • So far this season, Monsoon has earned GLIAC Player of the Week honors twice and surpassed 100 career goals. 
  • Enter the weekend on a three-game losing streak. Will take on GVSU on Friday (April 10) at home.
