Weather Alters Weekend Slate as Davenport Hosts SVSU, Travels to Wayne State

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Davenport enters the weekend following a split against Purdue Northwest and Grand Valley State, highlighted by a historic 9–5 victory over the Lakers — the program's first win over GVSU since 2019.

The Panthers now turn their attention to a reshaped weekend schedule. Originally set for road contests, Davenport will instead host Saginaw Valley State on Friday, April 17 at the Farmers Insurance Athletic Complex after weather disruptions earlier in the week. First pitch is set for 3 p.m., with Game 2 to follow.

Davenport will then return to the road on Sunday, April 19, traveling to Detroit to face Wayne State in a doubleheader beginning at noon.

Currently tied for sixth in the GLIAC standings with Parkside at 7–9 in conference play. With only the top six teams advancing to the GLIAC Tournament (May 7–10), the Panthers enter a pivotal stretch, with six conference doubleheaders remaining to secure their postseason spot.

DU will celebrate Senior Day on Saturday, April 25 at the Farmers Insurance Athletic Complex.
