Preview: Panthers Return Home to Host Lakers

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -  After a pair of road games, the Davenport University women's lacrosse team returns home to host crosstown rival Grand Valley State on Sunday (April 19) at 1 p.m. at the DU Turf Field.

Last week, goalie Isbelle Bonillo eclipsed 100 saves on the season. She currently ranks second in the conference and 17th across NCAA Division II in saves on the year.

Gabby Basha leads the conference in assists with 30, which is 2.14 per game, also leading the GLIAC.

About the Wildcats
  • Last season, the Lakers finished 16-4 overall and 8-0 In conference action. Made the NCAA Midwest Regional, but fell 17-14 to No. 4 Maryville in the second round.
  • Seven All-GLIAC performers return for the Lakers, led by Goalkeeper of the Year Sarah Krause. Despite splitting time in the cage, Krause totaled 88 saves on a .547 save percentage. Krause was named the GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week last week.
  • GVSU has had four straight GLIAC of the Week nods.
  • Enter the contest on a seven-game winning streak, with six of those being conference victories. 
  • Six of GVSU's seven losses have come to nationally-ranked opponents.
  • Picked to finish first in the GLIAC Preseason Coaches' Poll.
