MIDLAND, Mich. — Davenport's postseason run came to an end on Thursday afternoon as the Panthers fell 4–1 to Purdue Northwest in the opening round of the 2026 GLIAC Men's Tennis Championship.
Purdue Northwest secured the early advantage by taking the doubles point, winning at No. 1 and No. 2 before Davenport's pairing of
Jan Stolin and
Daniel Calver earned a 6–3 victory at No. 3.
In singles play, the Pride clinched the match with three straight wins at No. 2, No. 3 and No. 6.
Jaden Bender fell in straight sets at No. 2, while
Simone Pacciolla was defeated at No. 3. The deciding point came at No. 6, where
Rudiger Dusselberg pushed to three sets before Purdue Northwest pulled away for the win.
Davenport's lone point of the match came from
Jan Stolin at No. 1 singles, who delivered a strong performance with a 6–4, 6–2 victory in his final match. He concludes his career with 62 singles wins at DU.
