Box Score

The women's soccer team is battling through some tough times right now and it did not get much better on Wednesday afternoon as they lost in double overtime off a penalty kick to Concordia University 2-1. The loss drops DU's record to 2-6 on the year and 1-4 in WHAC play.  

Ashley Phillips got the scoring going for the game midway through the 2nd half after a defnesive struggle in the 1st half. She beat the defender off the dribble and put the ball past the keeper to give Davenport a 1-0 lead. Concordia would strike only 12:00 later off a long cross and one-timer to notch the game at one. Both teams would have numerous chances to win the game as time winded down, but neither could find the back of the net. Davenport was called for a penalty in the box with just 2:30 remaining in the 2nd overtime and the Cardinals Forward put away the game winner.
