The women's soccer team has battled through a tough season but there was a bright spot on Friday night as they played conference power Madonna to a 2-2 tie in double overtime. The draw comes on the heels of a five game losing streak and gives DU a 2-8-1 overall record and 1-5-1 in WHAC play.

DU got on the board first when Ashley Phillips ran under a long pass from Daniella Bugli and put it by the keeper. Madonna would respond with a goal ten minutes later and would add to it in the 52:00 minute but the Panthers would not back down. Thirty seconds after MU took a 2-1 lead, Brandee Weeks found Jaelene Huf for the game-tying goal. It would turn into a defensive battle as the Crusaders gave Davenport all they could handle, but the defense stepped up huge to get the tie. Davenport will return to action next Wednesday when they travel to Indiana Tech for a matchup with the Warriors.
