Box Score

The offense has never been too much of a problem for the men's soccer team, but today they needed every little bit of it to squeeze out a victory over host Aquinas College 5-4. The scoring came early and often for DU as they posted three goals in the first 15 minutes of play led by two goals off the foot of David Wood.  Tony Deakin also found the back of the net for a 3-0 lead before Aquinas would get on the board to keep the game close. Efrain Hernandez continued his outstanding season as he posted two more goals for the Panthers and they held on for the victory after the Saints rally fell short.

DU improves to 10-4-1 on the year and 8-4 in WHAC play. The team will play one more non-conference game next Tuesday against Taylor before preparing for the WHAC semifinal game on Saturday, October 27. They will play Cornerstone University in one semifinal of the bracket and Madonna will host Aquinas in the other half. Stay tuned to the website for the full bracket.
