Box Score

Grandville, Mich. - The Panthers played host to the Concordia Cardinals today as the two teams hooked up for the second time in three days. The result was the same as DU came away with a 2-0 victory in Grandville. The win lifts DU to 8-5-0 on the year and 4-3-0 in WHAC play.

After a slow start to the game, which featured many scoring chances for the Panthers, DU got the opening goal from Lewis Robinson on a beautiful rebound goal at 15:20. The Panthers had many chances to increase their lead but had most of their chances go just wide or even hit the cross bar. DU outshot the Cardinals 18-1 in the first half but the Cardinals keeper was up to the task.

The second half saw a defensive battle for the first 30 minutes as Concordia packed it in and did not allow as many chances for their opponent. DU did get through the defense at 74:46 when Elfid Kovzcevic passed a ball through the box to David Wood who put away his 12th goal of the season. The Panthers then had a few more opportunities but none got by the CUAA keeper and the game ended with a 2-0 shutout for Davenport.

Davenport improves to 8-5-0 with the win and is now 4-3-0 in WHAC play. They travel to Livonia, MI on Saturday for a huge showdown with Madonna University who sits atop the WHAC standings tied with Aquinas. Game time is set for 3:00 PM after the women's game.
