Grand Rapids, Mich. - The Panthers come back and won 4-3 in double overtime after giving up three goals in the first half. This is the first victory for DU on their new turf field.
Davenport gave up two goals in the first nine minutes of the game, and then one late in the first half to go down 3-1 heading into the second half. Shayla Crossman was the lone Panther to score, as she capitalized off a corner kick pass from teammate Daniella Bugli.
DU came out strong in the second half shutting down Indiana Tech for the rest of the game. Brooke Guiles got the Panthers within one early as she scored nine minutes in to narrow the Warriors lead to 3-2. Daniella Bugli then tied the game up with her second goal of the year off a penalty kick shortly after Guiles's goal.
With the game tied 3-3 in the second overtime Shayla Crossman found an open net and scored her second goal of the game, giving the Panthers a victory. DU now stands at 4-9-1 overall and 3-7-0 in WHAC play.
The Panthers will be back in action on Tuesday as they travel across town to take on Aquinas College, game time is 4:00PM.
