Box Score

Grand Rapids, Mich. - After a solid start today, it looked like DU could pull off the upset but the Saints from Siena Heights came back strong in the 2nd half to escape with a 3-3 tie. The draw finishes the Panthers season at 4-10-2.

Looking to end their season on a positive note, the Panthers played an inspired 90 minutes today and held a 2-0 lead at halftime. The Panthers got their first goal of the game just 9:30 in, when Brooke Guiles sent a shot backwards and over the keeper's head. The Panthers then struck again with only :23 seconds remaining on a Shayla Crossman penalty kick.

The Saints opened the second half showing why they came into the game as the WHAC's second best team as they scored two goals to get within one at 63:04. After seeing their lead cut down, the Panthers responded just 12 seconds later when Guiles added her second goal of the game. Unfortunately, Davenport could not hold on and Siena scored with just over 15 minutes to play and sent the game into overtime.

Each team had some very good opportunities in the two extra frames, but neither could get one to go by the keeper and the game ended in a 3-3 tie.

The draw finishes Davenport's season at 4-10-2 and 3-8-1 in the WHAC. They graduate only one player and will look to another solid recruiting class next year to help them climb the WHAC standings.
