Fort Wayne, Ind. - The women's soccer team got on the winning track today as they picked up their first win of the season with a 3-1 victory over Indiana Tech. The win lifts DU to 1-4-1 on the season and 1-2-0 in WHAC play.
After taking on two of the top teams in the conference last week, DU made the road trip to Fort Wayne today where they were led by two freshman, Britteny Willis and Amy Wright. The Panthers got on the board one time in the first half to take a 1-0 lead as they got one goal from Wright off the assist of Leah Vanlaan.
Starting the second half aggressive was key for the Panthers as they continued to put pressure on the Tech keeper and Willis scored to double the lead on a pass from Wright. DU would add a third goal after Tech cut the lead in half on a goal from Shayla Crossman.
Davenport outshot the Warriors 24-13 and Carissa Quador was solid in net as she posted 4 saves on the day.
