GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Davenport's men's soccer team blistered the Aquinas keeper with 19 shots (5 on net) but none of them got past him in a tough 1-0 loss. The defeat, which is the fourth straight for DU, drops the Panthers to 5-7 on the year.

Davenport, still playing without some of their key starters due to injuries, hoped to get back on the winning track today but the goals were scarce today on Aquinas' home field.

After a scoreless first half that saw DU control most of the play, Aquinas got on the scoreboard first with a goal at the 63:33 mark. The ball just squeaked by DU keeper James Gilpin (Newcastle, UK) but Davenport quickly came back with some added pressure of their own.

Unfortunately of the 19 shots for Davenport, only five of them were on net and the AQ keeper stopped them all. Gilpin finished with just a single save on the day in taking the loss dropping his season mark to 4-5.

Alex Boehm (Stevensville, Mich.) ended the game with three of the shots on goal for DU as five different players posted shots.

The Panthers have lost four straight games and will look to get back into the thick of the WHAC race when they travel to Concordia on Saturday for a matchup with the Cardinals.
