GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Having already clinched a playoff berth, the Davenport men's soccer team was able to rest some guys today as they fell 4-1 to Madonna in their regular season finale. The Panthers will face top-seeded Aquinas in Saturday's WHAC Semifinal at 2:00 at AQ.

Davenport will enter their fifth straight WHAC Tournament on the road at #1 Aquinas after finishing their regular season today with a 4-1 setback to Madonna University.

The Panthers (7-10-0, 5-7-0 WHAC), fell behind 1-0 with just less than a minute to play in the first half and would eventually see the deficit grow to two goals in the 59th minute.

DU rallied though and kept the pressure on the MU keeper and got a break with a penalty kick goal from Richard Visser (Holland, Mich.) in the 66th minute.

As many of the DU starters were on the sideline resting, the Crusaders then broke the game wide open with two more goals in the final 22 minutes of play to make the final outcome of 4-1.

The loss ends the regular season for DU but they will take on cross-town rival Aquinas on Saturday at 2:00 on the Saints Turf Field beginning at 2:00 PM. For more information on the WHAC Tournament, stay tuned to the DU Athletics website.
