Game 1 Box Score  Game 2 Box Score

PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. - Karlee Despres improved her season record to a perfect 3-0 as she led the Lady Panthers Softball team to a sweep of Trinity Christian on Friday afternoon. The two wins lift Davenport to 15-7 on the year.

In game one, DU jumped out to a wuick 1-0 lead in the top of the first before the defense and pitching took over for the next few innings. The Trolls came back by posting three runs of their own in the 4th inning only to see the Panthers rally to tie the game at 3-3 with a run in the 5th and 6th innings.

DU would post their 5th straight win of the year when Jodi Steenwyk sent a ball out of the park in the top of the 9th inning for the win.

Karlee Despres, who came in relief for Kassi Johnson, struck out 10 Troll batters and gave up only three hits in 5.2 innings to pick up the win.

The second game was much different than the first as the DU hitters really hit their stride as they posted two runs in the first, three in the third and four more in the fourth to take a commanding 9-0 lead. Two late runs by the Trolls made the score 9-2 but the umpires decided to call the game due to darkness.

Ali Dawson and Kristina Krum each drove in two runs for the Panthers as Krum also picked up two hits on the day.

DU will now travel to Calumet College for a double-header this afternoon.
