Box Score

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Davenport got two goals today from transfer Alex Boehm as the Panthers defeated Indiana Tech 4-0 at home. The win lifts DU to .500 on the year at 3-3-0 overall and they are now 1-1-0 in WHAC play.

In DU's two wins this season, the offense has scored six goal but in each of their three losses, the team has failed to get on the board. David Wood (Middlesborough, UK) got things going early today as the junior scored his first goal of the season in the 5th minute of play.

Less than 10 minutes later, Alex Boehm (Stevensville, Mich.) scored his first of two goals on a beautiful shot from 25 yards that got over the Tech keeper's hands and DU went into the break leading 2-0.

The offense continued to put pressure on the Warrior defense in the second half and after a foul by Tech in their own box, John Haines (Newcastle, UK) knocked home his first goal of the year on a penalty kick.

Boehm would later add his second goal of the game and third of the season on a free kick from 40 yards that got through everyone and by the Tech keeper.

Davenport posted 15 shots in the game (8 on goal) while the Warriors managed only five with DU keeper Kevin O'Brien (Ireland) saving them all. O'Brien made an outstanding save in the final ten minutes to preserve his first win and shutout in his career.

DU improves to 3-3 on the year and 1-1-0 in WHAC play as they will now have a week off before hosting Concordia on September 19 at 2:30 PM.
