GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Davenport dropped a tough 1-0 game today in front of their home crowd to the Warriors of Indiana Tech. The visitors made the most of the few chances they created today as DU dominated play from the opening whistle but could not put one by the Tech keeper.

Right from the start today, the Panthers were the more aggressive team and looked to put up a few goals early on, but the shots in the opening half were either just off the mark or the Tech keeper would come away with a big save.

Ashley Phillips (Stevensville, Mich.) and Shayla Crossman (Hudsonville, Mich.) each created a few great chances but neither could find the back of the net.

Then in the 39th minute after a free ball in the middle of the field, a Tech player loften a ball over the head of DU keeper Catherine Howard (Lowell, Mich.) to give the visitors the 1-0 lead.

Coming out of the locker room, the Panthers kept up the pressure but again could not get anything by the IT keeper.

Daniella Bugli (Shelby, Mich.) and Sarah Pitmon (Grandville, Mich.) again gave the Panthers some hope with close shots but Indiana Tech finished the game with the shutout.

Howard finished the game with just two saves on the three shots that came at her as the DU offense posted 12 shots (5 on net).

DU falls to 2-3-0 on the year overall and are now 1-1-0 in league action. They travel to Cornerstone on Wednesday, September 16 to take on the Golden Eagles at 4:00 pm.
