Emily Nielsen scored two goals on Saturday as she led the Lady Panthers to a convincing 4-0 win over Concordia in Ann Arbor. DU is now 7-2-3 on the year and 2-1-1 in league play.
Davenport got two goals in each half of play as
Emily Nielsen (Marshall, MIch.) started it with her first of two and
Britteny Willis (Hudsonville, Mich,) also added one to give DU a 2-0 lead at the break.
The second half was very similar to the first as DU was very aggressive and it paid off when Nielsen connected on her second of the game to put the Lady Panthers up 3-0.
Kasey Eberlein (Hudsonville, Mich.) finished the scoring late on a penalty kick.
Jessica Bergsma (Jenison, Mich.) continued her outstanding freshman season today as she picked up her seventh win all via shutout to break the single season mark for shutouts that was held by
Catherine Howard (Lowell, Mich.) in 2009.
Davenport is now 7-2-3 on the year and will travel to Upland, IN next Saturday to take on Taylor University. Their final two league games come the following week at Cornerstone and home against Aquinas.
