Grand Rapids, Mich. - Davenport fell to Aquinas 4-3 after overcoming a three goal deficit in the second half to force overtime. The Panthers could have won the conference regular season title outright with a win or tie but will have to settle with a share of the title with the Saints. Due to the loss Davenport will be the second seed in the upcoming WHAC Tournament.

Davenport fell behind early as Jeo Pantoja scored for Aquinas off a corner fourteen minutes into the game. Thirteen minutes later, an own goal dug the Panthers into an even larger hole and the score remained 2-0 heading into the half.

Early in the second half, Pantoja added his second goal as he slipped by the Davenport defense to give Aquinas a 3-0 lead.

A few minutes later Davenport started their comeback. Chase Burgess headed in a goal off a corner kick from Michael Rickets.

Carl Winterbottom added a second header goal on a free kick by Jai Maw from near mid-field just 14 minutes later and then with about fifteen minutes left in regulation, Michael Ricketts scored the team's third header goal when he scored off a high bounce from a kick by goalkeeper Kevin O'Brien.

The Panthers had several more scoring chances in the last few minutes but were unable to convert as the Saints keeper came up with some huge saves down the stretch.

A few minutes into overtime, Joe Pantoja lofted a shot over Kevin O'Brien's head to win it for Aquinas. It was Pantoja's third goal of the game and gave the Saints a tie atop the WHAC standings.

The loss drops the Panthers record to 12-6-0 overall and 5-1-0 in the WHAC. Aquinas finished the season at 14-4-0 overall and 5-1-0 in the WHAC. Davenport and Aquinas will share the conference regular season title but due to Aquinas's win they will be the top seed in the WHAC Tournament.

The Panthers will host their first round game on Saturday, November 6. The opponent and time is yet to be determined. Continue to check www.dupanthers.com for more information.
