Panthers Fall 1-0 in Overtime Play Against Siena Heights

Davenport stays at 4 points in WHAC race

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – After defeating Indiana Tech on Wednesday the Lady Panthers looked to get their second win in the conference but fell just seconds into overtime play, 1-0, to Siena Heights University. Davenport is now 6-2-3 overall and 1-1-1 in conference play.
Playing against the defending WHAC conference champions from Siena Heights the Panthers and Saints played neck and neck for the first ninety minutes of play. Both teams had a total of eleven shots in the game with half of those being on the net.
Davenport battled hard all game with Lizzie Paul (England) leading the Panthers with shots (5) and shots on goal (2), but DU just could not seem to put together any offense on the day.
After ninety minutes of play dominated by defense from each team, Siena Heights was able to capitalize on a defensive miscue by the Panthers and score just 27 seconds into overtime. The 1-0 loss is DU's first in conference and just their second of the season.
DU will have another week to prepare for their next conference match against the Cardinals from Concordia University on Oct. 16. Game time is set for 12:00pm in Ann Arbor, Mich.
