ADRIAN, Mich. - After a sluggish first half the lady Panthers were unable to recover from a 2-0 deficit and would fall 2-1 to Siena Heights in the WHAC semifinals. The loss ends the Panthers 2010 season in which they finished with an overall record of 9-4-4 and 3-1-2 in conference play.
Davenport trailed Siena 1-0 at halftime and then saw themselves down 2-0 in the second half with less than twenty-two minutes to go in the game.
Senior Daniella Bugli (Shelby Twp, Mich.) would give the Panthers some life seven minutes later with a goal of her own to cut the Saints lead down to just one. Bugli took a corner shot and got a fortunate bounce off the Siena defender to cut the Saints lead in half.
With just 8 shots in the game, compared to Siena's 15, DU would be unable to produce any more offense as the final seconds ticked off the clock.
Davenport posted the most wins in school history with nine and won their first ever post-season contest.
