GRAND RAPIDS, Mich- Davenport faced Aquinas College on Saturday in their last regular season game of the year and although the game was tied 0-0 going into the second half, it was the host Saints who came out on top thanks to a pair of goals in the final 45 minutes.  DU will be the No. 3 seed in the upcoming WHAC Tourney with a home date scheduled for Wednesday, November 2. The opponent and time are yet to be determined.

Davenport looked to end their season on high note on Saturday as they faced Aquinas who sat on top of the WHAC standings coming into Saturday's game. The Panthers came close to taking the lead early in the 2nd half when Letesha Cannonier had a breakaway opportunity. However, the Aquinas keeper came out and made the save to keep the score at 0-0.

Five minutes later, Aquinas got on the scoreboard off of a play from a long throw in. The Panthers attempt to clear the ball out of the box after the long throw ended up bouncing out to an Aquinas forward who volleyed the ball in the side netting.

Davenport kept putting pressure on the saints as Paige Eli received a ball just inside the box and fired a shot, but once again the Aquinas keeper turned it aside.

Soon after, Aquinas added the final goal of the game after being awarded a penalty kick. Catherine Howard made the initial save on the PK but Aquinas followed up the shot and buried the rebound.

The loss ends the regular season for DU at 10-7-1 as they will be the third seed in the WHAC tournament for the third straight season. DU will host either Madonna or Cornerstone on Wednesday at a time to be determined.
