Defense played a huge role in the first 45 minutes of play with both DU and SHU's goalies making great saves to keep the score tied up at 0-0. Siena outshot the Panthers 19-7 in the first half with Catherine Howard picking up seven saves.

The second half was very similar to the first with both teams continuing to put pressure on the opposing goalies but no goals were recorded until the 73:48 mark. Siena Heights took a rebound off DU players to find the upper left corner of the net and put SHU up 1-0.

The lead stood and Siena would give DU their first loss in conference action. Howard took the loss in net and Abbie Prince, Paige Eli and Lizzie Paul each had three shots on then day.

Davenport will have a week off before their next contest on the 15th of October. DU will host Concordia University at the DU Turf Field for a 12pm contest with live video and live stats available at www.dupanthers.com.

Post-Game Quotes – Head Coach Chris Allen

On overall performance: "We struggled tonight to get to grips with the game and actually do what we set out to do. Credit to them they caused us problems, but we had a few chances that we feel could have seen us come out on top. They scored on a great rebound off a free kick, probably the best goal I've seen all year. Siena was a force as usual and we just hope that we get another chance to play them again this season in the WHAC playoffs".
