WINONA LAKE, Ind. - The Davenport win streak of six games came to an abrupt halt on Sunday thanks to a dominating pitching performance against them from Grace College starter Michael Clark.  The senior pitched a complete 9-inning game and finished with 7 strikeouts as they downed Davenport 5-2.

After an impressive four game stretch against Brescia University, Davenport finished their long road trip in Indiana on Sunday but fell victim to a strong pitching performance against the Grace College Lancers.

Grace jumped out to a 5-0 lead after five innings of play before DU got on the board in the top of the sixth when Mike Allen (Midland, Mich.) brought home Brandon Bongard (Grand Rapids, Mich.).  Matt McNeil (St. Clair Shores, Mich.) then cut the lead to just three when he singled home Derrick Gentile (Sturgis, Mich.) but it would be all that DU could bring across.

Matt Loomis (Alma, Mich.) took the loss falling to 1-2 on the year as Davenport is now 12-6 heading into conference play this weekend against Concordia University.
