Keegan Batka (Grand Rapids, Mich./Christian H.S./Central Michigan) was named Midwest Region Pitcher of the Year by D2CCA and NCBWA after a stellar 2025 with the Panthers. The D2CCA encourages and promotes Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education. The CCA is a key communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies, and regulations that impact Division II intercollegiate athletics and works closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA Division II member colleges and universities. The National Collegiate Baseball Writers' Association has a focus on the advancement of college baseball through the efforts of writers, broadcasters, and publicists.
Batka, a redshirt senior and starting pitcher for the Panthers, made 13 appearances on the mound this season and was the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Year. He was 8-1 with a 3.09 earned run average in 84.1 innings pitched and struck out 91 batters while holding the opposition to a .213 batting average. Batka is 17th in Division II in hits allowed per nine innings with 6.69 and is 20th in earned run average. He led the GLIAC in strikeouts and walks plus hits per innings pitched (WHIP) and was second in strikeouts per nine innings, third in victories and third in earned run average.
Joining Batka on the D2CCA list and on the second team are,
Justin Johnson at first base,
Sam Clay at second base, and
Xander Reisbig as a designated hitter. Reisbig was named First Team All-Region in the NCBWA, and Clay earned Second Team All-Region in the NCBWA.
Reisbig finished the season with a .348 batting average and 1.057 OPS. He collected 48 hits, 28 runs, 17 doubles, one triple, seven home runs, and 39 RBI. Clay started in 50 games and batted .333 with 69 hits and had a 22-game hit streak snapped in the final game of the season. He scored 45 runs to go with 13 doubles, three triples, four home runs, and 39 RBI. Johnson batted .330 in his first season at DU with 68 hits, 52 runs, 17 doubles, one triple, nine home runs, and a team-high 52 RBI.
