GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.-  Davenport's four-game conference win streak came to an end on Wednesday night as the Panthers fell to Aquinas 3-0. The Panthers fall to 8-5 overall and 4-2 in WHAC play. With four games remaining, Davenport sits in third place in the WHAC behind Cornerstone (6-0) and Aquinas (4-1). The Panthers will be back on the field Saturday, Oct. 13 as they travel to Northwestern to take on the Racers at 3 p.m.

The Panthers struggled getting their offense going Wednesday night against the Saints. Davenport registered only three shots on goal on 11 attempted shots.

The Aquinas offense received big games from forward Casey Higgason and midfielder Tyler Fischer. Fischer opened up the scoring in the first half after receiving a short through ball from Higgason. Two minutes later, Higgason found the back of the net after stealing a pass from the Panthers defense.

Mirza Harambasic did all he could in the second half to keep the Panthers in the game. Harambasic registered 7 saves in the second half to keep the game close.

With 30 minutes left in the second half, the Saints put the game out of reach on another goal from Fischer. Once again it was Higgason playing the ball through the Panthers defense to give Fischer a clear shot on net.

Post-Game Notes
Davenport is now 8-9-2 all-time against Aquinas…10 out of the Saints 15 shots landed on goal…Tonight was the Panthers second shutout loss in conference play.
