Davenport Wins Second Straight WHAC Match; Shutout Siena Heights 3-0

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Davenport picked up their second straight win in WHAC play as they defeated Siena Heights on Saturday night. The Panthers jumped out to a 2-0 first half lead on goals by Donal Lynch and Henry Spees. Bradley Lediard added a goal in the second half to finish up the scoring for Davenport, who improved to 6-4-0 overall, and 2-1-0 in the WHAC.

Davenport came out and dictated the pace of the game early on as they worked the ball around and dominated the possession battle.  In the 10th minute the Panthers were able to work the ball inside the box. JC Smith fired a ball from the right wing inside to Bernard Brnada, who flicked the ball on to Donal lynch for the goal.

After getting some fresh legs on the field, the Panthers stuck again in the 30th minute. Mitchell Nousain crossed the ball to the top of the box to Henry Spees who volleyed the ball to the top left corner of the goal for his second goal of the season.

Davenport added their final goal in the 72nd minute. Stuart Collins fired a long pass over top of the Saints defense to Bradley Lediard who easily chipped the goalkeeper to give Davenport a 3-0 lead.

The Panthers outshot the Saints 10-4 in the game. Kevin O'Brien was credited with two saves in goal before he was relieved by Mirza Harambasic.

Post-Game Notes

Davenport is now has a 10-4 record all-time against Siena Heights…Henry Spees has come in as a substitute and scored in two straight games…Davenport went 3-1 in their four game home stand and is now 17-6-1 all-time on the DU Turf Field.
