GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Three second half goals vaulted the Davenport Men's Soccer team past visiting Marygrove on senior night and capped off a perfect regular season in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference. Dzenan Catic added two goals to his already record breaking season and Jai Maw added the final tally as Davenport picked up their twelfth straight win to finish the regular season at 16-2 overall and 10-0 in league play. Davenport will be the No. 1 seed in the WHAC tournament that starts on November 9.

The men's soccer team will take a 12-match winning streak into the post-season after completing a perfect WHAC slate with a 3-0 win over Marygrove on Saturday night. On a day in which the team celebrated its five senior student-athletes, it was a freshman that got them the lead and a senior that finished it off.

After a scoreless first half that saw the Mustangs outshoot the Panthers 4-1 and really control the pace of play, freshman Dzenan Catic broke the game wide open with two goals in a 15 minutes span the first coming at 63:19 on a loose ball in the box and the second at 77:43 on a cross from Jai Maw.

The senior Maw then added to his point total just less than 30 seconds after DU went up 2-0 as he sent a ball into the box and it skipped right through the Mustang keeper's legs.

Mirza Harambasic picked up the win in net, improving to 16-2 on the year, as the senior posted five saves on the night. Davenport ended up outshooting the Mustangs 21-9 (10-6 on net).

Davenport will now have a 2-week break before they begin WHAC Tournament play on Saturday, November 9. The Panthers will find out their opponent after the final day of league play next Saturday.

Post-Match Notes

Mirza Harambasic now holds the single season record for wins by a keeper (16) breaking the record set by Kevin O'Brien in 2010…Harambasic also tied the all-time wins mark which is owned by O'Brien as well (2009-12)…Davenport will be the No. 1 seed in the WHAC Tournament for the first time in school history
