Scouting York – 23-8 (10-4 MCAC) – Head coach Delton Deal (3rd season)

York College enters their first ever NAIA National Tournament after a record breaking season that saw them share the MCAC regular season title with fellow tournament competitor Bellevue (Neb.). Head coach Delton Deal, who was named the coach of the year in the conference, will have the Player of the Year Thadd Varmall leading the team as the senior averages 19.7 points and 8.1 rebounds per night. Joining Varmall on the All-MCAC team is fellow senior Marcus Johnson who averages just over 15 points per night. The Panthers went 10-4 in league play and picked up wins over two NAIA National Tournament bound teams in Bellevue and College of the Ozarks (who is the host of this event).

Davenport, who last season advanced to the Fab Four before falling to eventual national champion Oregon Tech, owns a 5-3 mark all-time at the national tournament in their three appearances. The Panthers will be led by first team All-WHAC performers JaVontae Ford (13.7ppg) and Dominez Burnett (14.3ppg). DU earned their bid by winning the regular season WHAC Championship.
