ORANGE CITY, Iowa – Two regular season matches are in the books and the Men's Soccer team has a pair of wins to show for it as they come back to Michigan after spending the last four days in Iowa. Davenport got a pair of goals in the final 15 minutes of play tonight as they downed host Northwestern College (Iowa) 3-1. Jai Maw scored the game winner and TJ Ifaturoti added the insurance goal as the Panthers improve to 2-0-0 on the season. DU will stay on the road for their next match which is scheduled for Tuesday at Goshen College (Ind.) at 7 p.m. EST.

In a very physical match played under the lights at Korver Field in Orange City, two late goals from the Panthers proved to be the difference as Davenport posted a 3-1 win over the host Red Raiders.

Davenport got on the board first unlike Friday's game where they trailed, as junior Dino Duratovic posted his first goal of the season on a penalty kick. After the Red Raiders evened the score midway through the opening half, the match turned very physical and into a defensive battle.

Each team had minimal scoring threats until the Panther offense created one for senior Jai Maw and the defender put it by the Northwestern keeper with just under 15 minutes to play. Friday was highlighted by the freshman as they recorded all four goals and it was another newcomer on Saturday that put the game out of reach when TJ Ifaturoti recorded his first collegiate goal to put the Panthers on top 3-1 and that was how it would end.

Mirza Harambasic picked up his second win in net as the senior finished with two saves on the night.

The Panthers will play at Goshen College on Tuesday, September 3 at 7 p.m. EST. DU has not played the Maple Leafs since the 2007 season in which they posted a 2-1 win at Goshen.
