Scouting Northwood – 0-0-0, 0-0-0 GLIAC – Head coach Dean Pappas
The Timberwolves, who will be opening their 2013 campaign against Davenport, will have a new look in the hopes of improving from a 6-10-1 record overall, 6-6-1 in the GLIAC. Northwood features 12 newcomers on its active roster but also bring back some key returners. Alyssa Tomassi returns for a farewell tour after leading the team in goals (13) and points (27) to earn a spot in the first-team All-GLIAC as a junior in 2012.
Scouting Bluffton – 1-1-0, 0-0-0 HCAC – Rick Nussbaum
The Beavers have started the season with a 1-1-0 record, having lost to Huntington 2-1 in extra minutes and but rebounded to beat Andrews 8-0 a few days later. All the goals were tallied by eight different Beavers in that match while Maggie Armstrong made three saves to preserve the shutout. Bluffton is two years removed from reaching the Heartland Conference tournament finals and is looking into 2013 making a return trip.
