Men’s Soccer Travels to Robert Morris Wednesday, Opens WHAC Play Saturday

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The men's soccer team concludes their non-conference play this week and then sets their sites on getting back on top of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference as they start the regular season for league matches. DU heads to Chicago on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. matchup with the Eagles of Robert Morris and then continues their 11-match road stretch to start the season on Saturday when they begin WHAC play at Indiana Tech.

Scouting Robert Morris (Ill.) – 2-2-0, 0-0-0 CCAC– Head coach Jake Truty (7th season)
Davenport hits the road on Wednesday for a night-match at Robert Morris University (Chicago). The Eagles, under the direction of 7th year head coach Jake Truty, pulled off a huge upset last week defeating then No. 2 ranked Hannibal-LaGrange 1-0. RMU is 2-2-0 on the season and although they have not played any of the same teams as DU, the Eagles did drop a 1-2 decision to WHAC foe Cornerstone. At the conclusion of the match, the Eagles will start up CCAC play when they face Calumet College next Tuesday. RMU has been led on offense so far by Gordy Gurson who has seven of the team's eight goals.


Scouting Indiana Tech – 5-0-1, 0-0-0 WHAC – Head coach David Bokhart (3rd season)
The Warriors are one of two WHAC teams entering the week without a blemish on their record as they stand at 5-0-1 on the season. Head coach David Bokhart and his team have a draw against Taylor but have defeated everyone else by a combined score of 11-5 which includes a 2-1 win over then No. 25 Olivet Nazarene. One of the top teams in the conference over the past few seasons, the Warriors have been led by Zachary St. Aubin who has a team leading six goals on the year. Reece Richardson in net has a save percentage of .857 to go along with a GAA of 0.80 which includes one shutout.
