GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – As the Davenport women's soccer team stayed put at No. 7 in the latest NAIA Top 25 rankings announced Tuesday evening, the Panthers will only have one match on the week as they begin their first Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference title defense against Lawrence Tech. The two teams both kick off their conference season at DU Turf Field Saturday at noon.

About the NAIA Top 25
Not much has changed within the top 10 teams sitting in the NAIA Top 25, with Davenport staying put at No. 7. Lindsey Wilson (Ky.), which handed Davenport's only loss of the season, remains the top team in the nation. The only jump in the top five was Embry-Riddle (Fla.) sharing the No. 2 spot with Vanguard (Calif.). Concordia (Ore.) and Northwood (Fla.) round out the top five in the rankings. Among DU's opponents this season, Spring Arbor remains at No. 9 and Martin Methodist (Tenn.) stayed at 10.
 
Scouting Lawrence Tech – 5-2-0, 0-0-0 WHAC – Head coach Jamie Scott
The Blue Devils are on a two-game win streak entering the conference opener, having escaped with a 1-0 double-overtime victory with Mount Vernon Nazarene and cruising to a 5-0 win against Holy Cross, all at home. Lawrence Tech has been looking for Nicole Propst to find the back of the net, scoring a team-leading six goals and tabbing four assists for 16 points. Propst has been carrying an off-the-bench role as she has only started three of the seven matches. Heather Derstine has been a busy keeper this season, making 60 saves while allowing only eight goals for a 1.12 goals-against average.
