RIO GRANDE, Ohio – Shameeka Fishley did it again. For the second time this season the freshman tallied a hat trick as she and the No. 21 Davenport women's soccer team scored all the goals they needed in the first half to cruise by Rio Grande 8-1 in the final matchup of the RedStorm's Marge Evans Classic Saturday afternoon.

Fishley, who recorded her first hat trick in the season opener at No. 3 Spring Arbor, becomes the first Davenport student-athlete to record more than one hat trick in a single season. Lizzie Paul is the first to score more than three goals in a single-match on more than one occasion, having done so three times.

Mackenzie VanDerWarf was one goal short from joining Fishley in the hat trick department but the junior also added an assist to her five-point day. Paul recorded her second goal of the season while Karli Harris and Bridget Zuidgeest both earned their first goal of the season.

Much like the victory over Mount Vernon Nazarene Friday night, the Panthers dominated every offensive statistic, outshooting the RedStorm 31-4 overall, 19-1 on goal. Michelle Marcus headed into intermission conceding the only goal before Lexi Kruse took over for the latter half.

Fishley scored the first goal of the match in the 12th minute with help from Paul. She would add her second goal in three minutes later and wrapped the hat trick in the 47th minute. Twenty seconds after Fishley scored her second goal, VanDerWarf scored her first and added her second in the 36th minute.

The Panthers will conclude their season-opening six-match road trip Wednesday at Northwood University Wednesday. Kickoff is slated for 4 p.m.
