Otto’s Four Goals Leads D2 Hockey in Win over Bradley

PEORIA, Ill. – The Davenport D2 hockey hit the road again this weekend as the traveled to Peoria, Ill. to face ACHA D3 opponent Bradley. Jake Otto led the way for the team with four goals three assists. Davenport is now 7-0-0-0 on the season. The Panthers will close out their weekend series Saturday night at 7 p.m. against Bradley in Peoria, Ill.
 
Jake Otto got the team going early as he scored two quick goals for the Panthers as the team took a 2-0 lead just 2:33 into the game. Branden Burton then scored two more goals for Davenport in the later half of the period to give DU a 4-0 lead. The Panthers took a 5-0 lead into the first intermission after Daniel Swink scored with ten seconds left in the period.
 
Burton completed his second hat trick of the season with a goal 3:46 into the second period. Chris McRae, Daniel Swink and Blake Damerow scored goals for Davenport to taked a 9-0 lead, before Bradley scored their first goal of the game to close out the second period and cut the lead to 9-1.
 
Bradley opened up the third period with another goal, but the Davenport offense picked up again as Otto scored two more goals to close out his four goal night and Bailey Rietman capped off the scoring in the game with his first goal of the night as Davenport went on to win the game 12-2.
 
The Panthers will be back on the ice Saturday night at 7 p.m. to close out their weekend series against Bradley in Peoria, Ill.
