FORT WAYNE, Ind. – After a hard fought battle against Grand Valley State on Friday night that ended in a tie, the Davenport D2 hockey team had to refocus for a road game at Indiana Tech. The Panthers had seven different players tally a goal en route to a 10-5 win over the Warriors. DU will be on the road again for the next six games starting on December 5 at Eastern Illinois in Charleston, Ill.

Davenport started the scoring the scoring early in the game as
Donald Sund scored his first goal of the game just 1:55 into the game.
Zachary Bodziak continued the scoring for the Panthers with a goal just over three minutes later to increase the lead to two goals for the Panthers. Just 1:08 later,
Bailey Rietman closed out the scoring in the first period to give the Panthers a 3-0 lead at the break.

Branden Burton got the scoring started in the second period, but Indiana Tech finally found the back of the net with 5:56 left in the second period. Rietman scored his second goal of the game to regain the four goal lead for Davenport, but the Warriors were able to cut the Davenport lead to three heading into the second intermission with late goal in the second period.

In the third period,
Kyle McConnell scored a pair of goals and
Daniel Swink chipped in with another before Indiana Tech scored three straight goals to cut the Davenport lead to three goals with 5:40 left in regulation. Sund scored his second goal of the game and
Chris McRae scored his first goal to seal the 10-5 win for the Panthers.

The Panthers will now have an open weekend before they play their next six games on the road starting next weekend at Eastern Illinois in Charleston, Ill.
