KISSIMMEE, Fla. – For the second straight day, the men's tennis team played a highly ranked SUN Conference opponent and for the second straight day, they won by an identical 5-4 score. The No. 24 ranked Panthers improved their record to 7-2 in dual matches as they defeated No. RV Webber International. DU will face No. 17 Warner University on Tuesday.
To post their second straight win over a Florida opponent, Davenport got a big performance from their doubles play to get three wins on their way to a 5-4 win over Webber International. DU won 9-8 (7-5) at No. 1 behind
Jordan Parker and
Matheus Moreira de Carvalho and then got 8-4 and 8-6 wins from
Sam Rogerson/
Juan-Philip van Antwerpen and
Tyler Chambers/
Zac Chambers.
Webber had the edge in singles play with the Panthers only getting two wins behind
Zac Chambers at No. 6 (6-4, 6-1) and van Antwerpen at No. 4 (6-2, 6-4).
No. 24 Davenport will face No. 17 Warner on Tuesday at 2 p.m.
