KISSIMMEE, Fla. – In a matchup of two Top-25 programs, it was the No. 17 Warner Royals that came out on top on Tuesday as they defeated No. 24 Davenport 7-2. DU fell behind 2-1 in doubles and then grabbed only one singles match to fall to 7-3 on the season in dual matches. The Panthers will have a pair of matches on Wednesday against Concordia (Minn.) and Southeastern (Fla.).
After getting a pair of quality wins over Northwood and Webber International to get their spring break trip started, the Panthers fell victim to the No. 17 ranked Warner Royals on Tuesday.
DU got one win in doubles play as the duo of
Sam Rogerson and
Juan-Philip van Antwerpen won their match by the score of 8-5. DU fell 8-3 at No. 1 and 8-2 at No. 3.
Turning to singles, the Panthers were unable to complete a comeback as they got only one win and that came from
Jordan Parker at the top as the freshman won 3-6, 7-6 (4), 10-8.
No. 24 Davenport will return to the courts on Wednesday where they will face Concordia (Minn.) at 8 a.m. and Southeastern at 4 p.m.
