Box Score EAST LANSING, Mich. – After dropping the series opener on Friday afternoon, the Davenport D2 hockey team was unable to bounce back in the second game of the weekend series against Michigan State as the Panthers lost 4-1.
Tyler Thomas scored the only goal for the Panthers, while
Andrew Habasevich appeared in net for Davenport. The Panthers will conclude their regular season schedule in next week as they face Grand Valley State twice on the road.

After a scoreless first period, the game opened up in the second period as Michigan State was able to find their second period magic once again as they scored three goals in the second period. The Spartans were able to find the back of the net twice in the first 4:05 as they scored both goals in a 2:01 span. Michigan State was able to score their third goal of the period with 7:16 left in the second period as they took a 3-0 lead into the second intermission.

In the third period, the Panthers finally got on the board with 11:24 left in the game as
Tyler Thomas was able to beat the Spartan goaltender to pull the Panthers within two goals. Michigan State closed out the game with a power play goal with 4:40 left in the game as they went on to beat Davenport 4-1.

Davenport will be in action next weekend as they face off against Grand Valley State to close out their 2014-15 regular season schedule.
