SILVIS, Ill. - The Davenport men's golf team competed in a star-studded field over the past two days at the NAIA Men's Fall Preview hosted at the prestigious TPC of Deere Run. The course plays host to the PGA Tour each summer at the John Deere Classic. The field included 24 teams and nine of those teams are ranked in the top 25 national poll. In addition, five other teams including the Panthers are receiving votes. Coastal Georgia ranked No. 1 won the tournament with a two-day total of 595 (+27). No. 3 Oklahoma City was second just three strokes back. No. 2 William Woods was third with a total of 600. Davenport tied for ninth place with Culver-Stockton and No. 13 Cardinal Stritch with a total of 623 (+55). The Panthers carded a 308 in the first round and a 315 in the final round.

Jorge Benitez had a fantastic tournament and finished fourth with a four-over par 146 (72-74). Mitchell Wandell tied for 41st out of 120 golfers with a score of 157 after sitting in sixth place after the first round (74-83). Kurt Sprague tied for 54th with a total of 159 (82-77). Mitchell Garrison finished in a tie for 65th with a two-round total of 161 (80-81). Josh Switzer carded 89-87 for the Panthers.
