Panthers Place Third at SVSU Spring Invite

LEXINGTON, Ky. - After placing first in its opening tournament of the spring season, the Davenport University men's golf team placed third out of 14 teams at the SVSU Spring Invitational this past weekend at the Kearney Hill Golf Links. As a team, the Panthers shot 891 (+27) through three rounds, with their best coming in second at 287 (-1), which ranked second among all squads.

Leading the way for DU was Cayden Kwan with a second-place finish, ending the event shooting 216 (E). His best round was in the second, shooting three under par (69). Kwan secured 11 birdies through 54 holes of action.

Justin Grimard ended the weekend tied for 17th overall individually. Grimard also had his best round in the second, highlighted by an eagle on hole three, while shooting a 71 (-1). His three-round score was a 223 (+7).

Chen-Shiuan Wu and Hudson Turcotte each finished with a score of 228 (+12), tying for 26th overall. Wu had his best round in the second, shooting one over par (74), while Turcotte shot a 73 (E) in the second round.

Looking ahead, the Panthers will head to Bolingbrook, Ill., for the Lewis Flyer Spring Invite on March 30-31 at the Bolingbrook Golf Club.
