Box Score LIMA, Ohio - The top match in the NAIA today between No. 3 Davenport and No. 4 Northwestern Ohio changed in the blink of an eye on Wednesday afternoon as the Panthers took over first place in the WHAC in a 2-1 win over the Racers. Northwestern Ohio was previously undefeated in the WHAC and scored first in the 27th minute. Sergio Royo scored his 14th goal of the season with Carlos Garces credited with the assist.

"It was a battle between two titans and the weather conditions did not help either team," said head coach
Chris Hughes. "Northwestern Ohio has a great program and are well coached. They went up on us in the first half and we knew that we did not play well enough early. Our energy picked up in the second half and needed two goals in some fashion. We had to win the game because a tie was not going to be enough for us to reach our goals. In time we found some opportunities and had to convert. It was a great match and we battle on."
Northwestern Ohio totaled 15 shots with four on goal. Davenport attempted 10 shots with half of them on goal.
Aaron Orban won his 10th match in net for the Panthers this season making three saves. Davies made three saves as well for the Racers. The Panthers are currently 14-1-2 overall and 9-0-1 in the WHAC while the Racers are 13-3 overall and 9-1 in the conference.
