Tennis Teams Travel to Florida for Spring Break Trip

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Both the Davenport men and women's tennis teams will travel to Orlando, Fla., for their annual spring break trip. The men's team has dropped the first two matches of their spring schedule, while the women will start their spring schedule this week. Both the men and women's tennis team will start their trip against Northwood (Fla.) on Sunday at 3 p.m. in Orlando, Fla.
 
After dropping their first two dual matches of the season against a pair of NCAA DII programs from the GLIAC, the men's team will face their first NAIA opponent in Northwood (Fla.), who is ranked 15th in the NAIA polls. The Panthers will then face NCAA DIII squad, Capital University out of Columbus, Ohio on Tuesday at noon. Davenport will then face another ranked NAIA foe in No. 25 Webber International on Wednesday, before they conclude the trip on Saturday against NCAA DII school, Montana State – Billings at 1 p.m.
 
The women's tennis team, who is ranked 12th in NAIA polls, will begin their spring schedule on Sunday against No. 8 Northwood (Fla.). The Lady Panthers will then be in action on Monday to face their second NCAA DI opponent as they face Oakland at 10 a.m. Davenport will then conclude their trip in Florida as they face NAIA foe Webber International on Wednesday, before they face Montana State – Billings on Saturday to conclude the trip.
 
The Davenport tennis teams will travel to Florida, where both the men and women's teams will face four opponents each. All of the team's matches will be in Orlando, Fla., throughout the week. Both teams will open their schedule in Florida against Northwood (Fla.) at 3 p.m.
