ORLANDO, Fla. – In the second to last matches for both the men and women's tennis teams in Florida, Davenport was able to come away with a pair of wins over Webber International (Fla.). The Lady Panthers were able to sweep the Warriors to win their first match of the spring, 9-0, while the men were able to upset 25th-ranked Webber International, 6-3. Both teams will wrap up their Spring Break trips in Florida on Saturday at 1 p.m. against Montana State-Billings.
 
After dropping their first two matches of the spring season, the 12th-ranked women's tennis team was able to their first match of 2015 in dominating fashion as they beat Webber International, 9-0. In doubles, the Lady Panthers just dropped one game throughout the three matches Alyssa Fuentes and Emily Spiech won 8-1, while the teams of Puck Luttikhuis and Marie Kooyers; and Bridget Barrett and Montserrat Elizondo, both won 8-0. DU continued to roll in singles as five of the six matches were won the by the score of 6-0. Davenport is now 3-3 on the season and snaps their two match skid.
 
The men's team was able to hold off a late rally by Webber International to complete the upset over the 25th-ranked team in the NAIA. Davenport won all three doubles, but Webber International was able to reel the Panthers back in as they won the first three singles matches, two of which went to three sets. However, Davenport was able to find their groove as the Panthers won the final three singles matches all in straight sets to beat the Warriors, 6-4. The Panthers have now won back-to-back matches for the second time this season as they improve to 4-4 on the season.
 
Both the men and women's tennis teams will conclude their Spring Break schedules on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. in Orlando, Fla., against NCAA DII program Montana State-Billings.
